Donny van de Beek will be sidelined at Girona for at least six months. The 28-year-old midfielder underwent surgery for a torn Achilles tendon in Amsterdam on Thursday evening.
Van de Beek sustained the injury on Tuesday during the away match against Athletic Club. The 19-cap Oranje international was injured while simply dribbling the ball. He had only just recovered from a heel injury that sidelined him for over three months.

The midfielder transferred from Manchester United to Girona last summer. The former Ajax player has made 37 appearances for the current La Liga bottom club, scoring three goals in those matches.
