Do or die for Cardiff City’s sister club Kortrijk in Sunday’s clash with RWDM

Kortrijk go into their game against RWDM on Sunday knowing that anything less than a win will see them relegated to the Challenger Pro League. After a 4-2 defeat to the Brussels side at home last time out, the side are now five points behind the club owned by John Textor. With just three games, including the clash with RWDM, to go, Kortrijk have to win all three if they want to avoid automatic relegation.

It is impossible for the side, owned by Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan, to win the relegation play-off and guarantee their survival, Instead, they are now aiming to finish in second place and face a team from the Challenger Pro League in a final play-off. The side are yet to win a game in the play-offs, having drawn with Eupen and lost to both Charleroi and RWDM. Kortrijk have been highly reliant on loanee Cardiff striker Isaak Davies for goals. The 22-year-old has scored 11 goals in 31 games so far this season.
