Djeidi Gassama set to return to PSG as Eupen announce departures

Alongside the announcement that key players Stef Peeters and Smail Prevljak will be leaving the club when their contracts are up, Eupen have also announced that four on loan players will not be retained. One of these is 19-year-old forward Djeidi Gassama, who will now return to PSG where he has one year left on his current contract. This may not be the end for Gassama in Eupen, as previously Teddy Alloh made the same move before returning to the Pandas permanently.

Alongside Gassama, Ibrahim Diakité will also be returning to France to join up with his parent club Stade Reims. The 19-year-old Diakité has a contract with the club until 2025. Mubarak Wakaso, who only made nine appearances for the club during his loan spell, is set to return to China. Loic Bessilé is another on the list who is not being retained, yet he will only need to travel a short distance back to Charleroi.

Eupen are certainly a side to keep an eye on this summer, as they clearly need to address a number of issues if they are to avoid another relegation battle next season. As part of their planning for next season, the club recently announced that they had parted ways with head coach Ed Still.
