Denkey delight for Cercle Brugge in win over OH Leuven

Kevin Denkey was the hero for Cercle Brugge as they beat OH Leuven in a five goal thriller at the Jan Breydel. The 22-year-old Togolese international scored all three goals, with his final one being an 87th minute winner. Cercle had twice taken the lead, only to be pegged back by their opponents.

Denkey opened the scoring after just three minutes, but the lead lasted barely sixty seconds as Raz Shlomo got his first goal for OHL. Denkey then took advantage of some poor defending from the away side to make it 2-1, only for Cercle to gift Ezechiel Banzuzi the equaliser just before half-time.

Both sides had chances to win it, but in the end it was Denkey who proved to be the hero. The striker smashed in the winner with time running out to end a run of three consecutive defeats for Cercle. Denkey has scored eight goals in just 10 games so far this season.

OHL remain in the bottom four with just two wins from their opening 10 games. Scoring has not been a problem for the side, but their 19 goals conceded is a cause for concern.
