Goalkeeper Davy Roef was once again the standout player for Gent. The goalkeeper has been in great form this season and his five saves on Thursday night were enough to grab a second win in the Conference League. Given that their first game was against favourites Chelsea, this has been a good start results wise for the Buffaloes.
However, at home they would have wanted to win by a bigger margin and improve their goal difference, which currently stands at 0. Omri Gandelman was the goal scorer, grabbing his eight goal of the season. The Israeli international has been in great form, with two assists to go with the goals in just 17 games. He is already closing in on the 13 goals he scored for the side last season.
Gent travel to Switzerland for their next game in the competition. They face a Lugano side that lost 4-1 to TSC Backa Topola of Serbia. However, the Swiss side have won two games and are level on points with Gent.
