Dante Vanzeir interested in move to New York Red Bulls as negotiations continue

Het Nieuwsblad have revealed that Union St Gilloise and New York Red Bulls are engaged in negotiations over the transfer of Dante Vanzeir to the MLS. The paper is reporting that the player is interested in making the move, with the two clubs coming closer to an agreement. If a deal is not struck, the expectation is that the Belgian club will renew the strikers contract with an improved salary.

Interest from the MLS side has been reported for a number of weeks now, with speculation mounting as to whether the striker is going to make the move. However, the striker did appear to pick up an injury in the recent match with Cercle Brugge, having to go off during the first half. He is the sides current top scorer, with 10 league goals from 20 matches. The 24 year old has also scored one goal in the Europa League.

Union are currently second in the table, 9 points behind leaders Genk. The side have not lost a game in the league since losing to Genk in September.
