Daley Blind set to sign for Spanish side Girona after departure from Bayern Munich

Daley Blind is set to sign for Spanish side Girona, according to Sport. The 33-year-old is currently a free agent after his departure from Bayern Munich. La Liga will be the Dutch defender’s next destination.

Blind spent the first half of last season at Ajax, where he featured 19 times in all competitions. In January the former Manchester United man made the move to Bayern Munich. In total, he made just five appearances for the German champions totalling just 157 minutes worth of football. His contract officially came to an end on the 30th of June. Now, he’s close to completing a move to Spain.

Girona finished in tenth place in La Liga last season. If the deal is completed, Daley Blind will become the first Dutchman to play for the Catalan club. Blind himself has never played in Spain before. The 101-time Netherlands international’s experience will certainly help Girona progress in La Liga next season. The player is set to undergo a medical soon.
