Alessio Da Cruz has left Fortuna Sittard. The 28-year-old attacker has chosen to pursue a career at Athletic Club, in the second division in Brazil.
Da Cruz still had one year left on his contract with Fortuna. Itโs unknown how much Athletic Club is paying to pry the attacker from Sittard. Da Cruz joined Danny Buijsโs club a year and a half ago. In Limburg, the three-capped Cape Verde international played 36 official matches, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.
Athletic Club are by no means Da Cruzโs first international adventure. The Almere-born striker has previously played for Novara Calcio, Parma, La Spezia, Ascoli, Sheffield Wednesday, Santos Laguna, LR Vicenza, KV Mechelen, and Feralpisalo in a lengthy CV. He also played for FC Groningen in the Netherlands between 2020 and 2021.
