Cyle Larin set to join Real Valladolid despite only signing for Club Brugge in the summer

Sacha Tavolieri has announced that Cyle Larin is set to join Spanish side Real Valladolid on loan with an option to buy for €2m. Larin only joined the Belgian side in the summer of 2022 from Turkish giants Besiktas. Larin made 13 appearances for the defending Belgian champions, scoring one goal.

During the 2019/2020 season Larin was on loan with another Belgian side in Zulte Waregem. The Canadian striker scored nine goals and provided 11 assists in 33 appearances for the club. During his time in Turkey he scored 39 goals in 109 appearances.

Larin made his breakout in the MLS with Orlando City, where he made 89 appearances and scored an impressive 44 goals.

At international level, Larin was one of the top performing players who helped the side qualify for the Qatar World Cup. In 57 appearances for the Maple Leaves the striker has scored 25 goals.

Club Brugge have already seen a number of departures, with Arne Engels joining Augsburg, former captain Ruud Vormer going to Zulte Waregem, and Noah Mbamba joining Bayer Leverkusen. Eduard Sobol is also rumoured to be leaving the club for France and Strasbourg.
