Crystal Palace target refuses to train for Genk as he tries to force through Premier League move

HLN are reporting that Daniel Munoz, who is wanted by Crystal Palace, has refused to train for Genk. The Colombian is looking to move to the Premier League this January, but currently the side from Selhurst Park have failed to reach the Belgian sides valuation of the player. An initial bid was rejected, as well as another increased offer. Genk are still looking for a fee in the region of  €10m.

The 27-year-old right-back is one of the best in his position in the Pro League, and from an attacking sense his numbers are very impressive in recent times. So far this season the defender has five goals and one assist in 17 matches. During the 2022/2023 season Munoz scored eight goals and provided five assists.

Munoz contract expires at the end of the current season, but Genk do have the option to extend it for a further year. Therefore, they can try and get maximum value for one of their key players. Like with Gerardo Arteaga, who has also been linked with a move away in January, the side are likely to want to find a replacement before agreeing to the sale of Munoz.

At international level, Munoz has been capped 23 times by Colombia.
