Confusion at the Red Devils press conference ahead of must win game with Croatia

There was a lot of confusion surrounding the press conference for the Red Devils ahead of their clash with Croatia. Initially, Arthur Theate and Yannick Carrasco were down to speak to the press, however a chance was made, with Eden Hazard and Jan Vertonghen set to appear. Then, just one hour before the conference, Thibaut Courtois took the place of Vertonghen.

Rumours have been circulating that all is not well in the Belgian camp, with players taking shots at each other through press conferences. Both Hazard and Courtois denied that there was a problem in the team. Hazard also addressed the rumour that he had fought with Vertonghen. The Real Madrid midfielder said “We didn’t fight – Jan is taller than me”, before going on to confirm he and the Anderlecht defender had discussed the comments made in the media.

Belgium’s shock loss to Morocco in their second game of the tournament means that the Red Devils have to beat 2018 finalists Croatia in their final game if they want to qualify for the next round.
