Cody Gakpo to say farewell to PSV fans during Sevilla match

Cody Gakpo will return to PSV Eindhoven ahead of his former club’s Europa League tie with Sevilla, Voetbal International reports.

The Liverpool forward, 23, will be given the opportunity to say his goodbyes to the club he has been a part of since his youth days until he made the move to the Premier League club back in December.

Ruud van Nistelrooy welcome La Liga side Sevilla to the Philips Stadion in the second-leg of their Europa League play-off tie as they look to bring themselves back from a three-goal aggregate deficit.

Despite his big money move and sending a heartwarming message to PSV’s fans, Gakpo has not yet been to the Eredivisie club to say thank you and farewell but has managed to get permission from Jurgen Klopp and the club to travel to the Netherlands.

At half-time, Gakpo will appear before the PSV crowd and finally get his chance to say goodbye – hopefully with his former club in a better position to secure a place in the Europa League round of 16 draw.

The Dutch club are going into this match 3-0 down on aggregate after Sevilla humbled Van Nistelrooy’s side in Seville.
