Club Brugge v Molde Preview | Club looking to overturn first leg deficit back in Belgium

Club Brugge welcome Molde to the Jan Breydal hoping to overcome a 2-1 first leg deficit. The sides were level until a late goal from Fredrik Gulbrandsen gave the Norwegian side a crucial first leg lead. At home in Europe Club Brugge have been exceptionally strong, so will hope that the advantage of playing the second leg back in Belgium will be enough for them to overturn the first leg deficit.

Over the weekend the side managed a 3-1 win over relegation threatened OH Leuven. Hans Vanaken and Bjorn Meijer were the goal scorers, with OH Leuven goalkeeper Tobe Leysen scoring an own goal. With the Conference League being the sides only hope of silverware this season, head coach Ronny Deila has come under increasing pressure over the past few weeks. The side have been dealt a boost with experienced goalkeeper Simon Mignolet returning to training this week.

Molde are yet to start their domestic campaign, with only European action and a few friendlies having kept them match sharp over the winter. The Eliteserien season is set to begin on the last weekend of March, with Molde’s first game being at home to Strømsgodset.
