Club Brugge have announced that young defender Joaquin Seys has signed a new deal at the club. The 20-year-old is just the latest young talent to come through the club and was a standout player during the 2024/2025 campaign. As a result, Club Brugge have now rewarded Seys with a new contract which will run until 2029. The right-back has come through he academy at the club and has impressed in both the Pro League and the Champions League.
Last season the Belgian youth international made 40 appearances for Club Brugge in his debut season with the first team. Prior to that, Seys had played in the second tier for Club Bruggeโs second team Club NXT. After 27 appearances during the 2023/2024 season, with one goal and three assists, he was promoted to the first team as a teenager. Seys scored twice last season, a number he has already surpassed this year. In 12 appearances he has scored three goals and provided two assists, with one of the latter coming during the sides 4-1 dismantling of Ligue 1 side Monaco in the Champions League. Seys also scored twice as Club Brugge hammered Scottish side Rangers in qualification, with another assist in that 6-0 victory. Seys has recently returned from injury, coming off the bench against Monaco and Sint Truiden in the sides 2-0 win this past weekend.
By tying Seys down to a new deal, Club Brugge are once again ensuring that they will receive a decent fee for the defender should they choose to sell in the near future. Given his performances so far, plenty of top European sides will be looking at Seys next summer.
