Voetbalkrant are reporting that Club Brugge are interested in signing Thomas Meunier on a contract until 2025. The former PSG defender currently has one more year left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. 31-year-old Meunier played for Club Brugge back in 2011, when he signed from Virton for just €200k. In the summer of 2016, Club Brugge sold him to PSG for around €6m. Reports suggest that he will sign a deal with the club through to 2025, with an option for an extra year.
In 2021 Meunier joined Dortmund on a free from PSG. Over the past few months he has fallen out of favour at the club and struggled to nail down first team football. With his desire to continue to play, Club Brugge appear an attractive option. With Clinton Mata set for a move to Lyon, Meunier would be the clubs new starting right-sided defender.
This would give him the chance to reach 200 appearances for the Belgian side, as he currently sits on 198. During that time he scored 20 goals and provided 22 assists.
