Club Brugge looking for €20m for RB Leipzig target Abakar Sylla

HLN are reporting that Club Brugge are looking for €20m for their young central defender Abakar Sylla. The 20-year-old Ivorian joined Club Brugge from SO Armée €200k in September 2021. Sylla broke into the first team this season after the departure of Stanley Nsoki to Hoffenheim. After making just one appearance during the 2021/2022 campaign, the defender made 27 in all competitions, including starting the majority of the sides Champions League matches. RB Leipzig are said to be leading the race to sign him.

Sylla is not the only Club Brugge defender attracting interest from abroad. Experienced Angola defender Clinton Mata is reportedly on the radar of French side Lyon, who are looking to replace Malo Gusto. The 30-year-old, who can play as a full-back or in a back three, has made 197 appearances for the side and scored six goals. Prior to joining Club Brugge, Mata spent time with Eupen, Charleroi and Genk. Gusto is set to fight for a first-team place at Chelsea.
