Club Brugge hammer RWDM to make it 13 goals in two games against the John Textor owned side

Club Brugge once again put RWDM to the sword this season. Away from home in Brussels, the blue and black half of Brugge were ruthless as they ran out 6-1 winners, just one goal less than the 7-1 defeat they had inflicted on the newly promoted side a few months ago. This now means that over one third of the sides goals this season have come from their two matches against the side owned by John Textor.

The American will certainly not have enjoyed seeing the performance of Thiago Rodrigues. The 22-year-old Brazilian continued his hot form with a hat-trick and an assist in just 66 minutes. The forward has now scored an impressive nine goals in his previous six games across all competitions, including six in his last three. Formerly of Ludogorets, Rodrigues has grabbed 16 goals in 33 games since joining in the summer.

Philip Zinckernagel grabbed another, with Andreas Skov Olsen and Hans Vanaken making it six. RWDM did get one back through Ilay Camara, but this was the very definition of a consolation goal. For RWDM, this paints a pretty inconsistent picture over their past five games. Despite wins over Kortrijk and Sint-Truiden, which included clean sheets in both, they have shipped 10 goals against top sides like Gent and Club Brugge. Head coach Claudio Cacapa will certainly need to look into how his side approaches the stronger sides in the Belgian Pro League after the winter break.
