Club Brugge eyeing up Reims winger alongside Southamptonโ€™s Samuel Edozie

Club Brugge are in the market for another winger. After yesterdayโ€™s reports of the side being interested in Southampton winger Samuel Edozie, HLN have revealed that Reims teenager Mamadou Diakhon is on the radar of the Pro League side. Club Brugge are keen to take advantage of Reims relegation to Ligue 2 to pick up the 19-year-old. With Chemsdine Talbi having left in the summer to join Sunderland, Club Brugge could do with another reinforcement out wide.

Diakhon has already started the Ligue 2 season well, scoring in the sides opening day draw with Amiens. The teenager made his debut for the senior Reims side back in the 2022/2023 season. Last year was Diakhonโ€™s breakout year in Ligue 1, as the youngster made 35 appearances for Reims in all competitions, scoring three and providing two assists.

Given Reims current situation, Diakhon may well be the cheaper option of the two players, especially with his contract up next summer. Southampton have already rejected Club Bruggeโ€™s opening bid for Edozie and the price being quoted appears steep for the player who spent last season on loan with Anderlecht.
