Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech is set to return to Ajax should Antony leave following positive talks between the player and the Dutch club.
Antony’s future at Ajax is now very much in doubt following Manchester United’s decision to up their interest in the Brazilian winger.
It’s widely believed that he’s keen on making such a move, so much so that he hasn’t been training with his current club and was left out of the squad at the weekend.
Soon after it emerged that he may well leave this summer, it became clear that if that were to happen, Ajax wanted to bring Ziyech back from Chelsea to replace him, and it now seems that’s exactly what will happen.
According to well-informed Twitter user Hamstelaar, talks between Ziyech and the Eredivisie champions took place on Sunday night and went well.
The Moroccan is reportedly eager to return to his old club and it’s expected that a personal agreement would be easily reached.
Given Chelsea are open to selling him, there don’t seem to be any barriers preventing the reunion if Antony does indeed leave.
