Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech demands derailing Manchester United’s attempts to sign Ajax’s Antony

The high price Chelsea are demanding Ajax pay for Hakim Ziyech is derailing Manchester United’s attempts to sign Antony.

Man Utd have upped their efforts to sign Antony is recent weeks and the winger has told his current club he wants to leave to join the English side.

It initially looked like he’d get his wish with Ajax reportedly willing to let him go if they could bring Ziyech back to the club from Chelsea to replace him.

However, while the Morrocan is keen to return, Chelsea aren’t willing to let him leave on loan as Ajax had hoped and are demanding an extremely high price – said to be €44m – for him.

According to well-informed Twitter user @Hamstelaar, those demands are making the Dutch club reluctant to let Antony leave.

Ziyech is the only available player they view as a worthy replacement, and if they can’t sign him, they’re now likely to keep the Brazilian.
