Charleroi reject loan offer for Stelios Andreou from Venezia

Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Charleroi have rejected an offer from Venezia for young Cypriot central defender Stellios Andreou. The Italian side, who play in Serie B, wanted to bring the 21-year-old to Venice on loan with a purchase option. However, the Zebras have rejected the offer.

Andreou, who has been capped at international level by Cyprus, has made three appearances for the side this season, only missing the 1-1 draw with Standard Liege after being moved to the bench. The central defender joined Charleroi in the summer of 2021 from Olympiakos Nicosia, where he had made 41 appearances, scoring twice. Since moving to Belgium, Andreou has played 55 games for the Zebras and scored one goal. He remains under contract until 2026 and is valued at around €2m by Transfermarkt.

Charleroi are yet to win this season, having drawn three games and lost one. This week they added former Anderlecht midfielder Adrien Trebel on a one-year deal.
