Charleroi discussing loan deal for Brest’s Moroccan defender

According to Benjamin Helson, Charleroi and Brest are in discussions for a deal that would see Achraf Dari join the Zebras on loan. The 24-year-old Moroccan defender has only made four appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season, with the lack of first team action seeing him miss out on the AFCON with the Atlas Lions. Dari was part of the squad that made history at the Qatar World Cup, but was not selected to help the side try and win their second title.

Dari joined Brest in the summer of 2022 from Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca. He made 97 appearances for the red half of Casablanca, scoring eight goals. In one and a half seasons for Brest he has only played 24 times, scoring once.

Dari is not the only player that Charleroi are looking at bringing in on loan this January. They are also considering a loan deal with Watford for 22-year-old defender Matthew Pillock. Like Dari, the young defender is out of favour and has only played a handful of games this season. Charleroi are currently sitting just above to bottom four thanks to goal difference.
