Cercle Brugge set to sign Corinthians teenage striker in January

Marcelo Braga is reporting that Corinthians striker Felipe Augusto is set to join Cercle Brugge in January. The 19-year-old made 15 appearances for the side during the 2023 season, mainly coming off the bench. The side from the Tatuapé district of São Paulo finished in 13th position in the Brazilian Serie A, missing out on continental football by just a single point.

It appears that Cercle have now found their long term replacement for Kevin Denkey. The Togolese forward is currently top scorer in the Belgian Pro League and will certainly attract interest over the coming transfer windows. Denkey added another goal at the weekend in a 2-1 win over OH Leuven, giving him 14 goals in 18 games for the season. Cercle signed the 23-year-old Togolese international from Nimes back in the winter of 2021. Since then, he has scored 37 goals in 104 games for the club. Thanks to the strikers goals, Cercle are currently sitting seventh in the league.
