Cercle Brugge opt to bring in attacking reinforcements from Rodez over resigning Paris Brunner from Monaco

HLN are reporting that Ibrahima Baldé is set to join Cercle Brugge. The side had been primed for the return of Paris Brunner, but the German was involved in Monaco’s opener against Le Havre. As a result, Cercle Brugge have instead turned their attention to another target. 22-year-old Baldé has already made two appearances for Rodez in Ligue 2 this season but was said to be absent from the sides training session as he undergoes a medical in Belgium.

Baldé came through the youth system at Lens and made seven appearances for the first team during the 2021/2022 season. For the following campaign he was loaned to Annecy in the second tier, where he played 25 games with four goals and two assists. In 2024 Rodez signed the young striker for free after he left Lens. During the 2024/2025 season the French forward scored seven goals and grabbed two assists in 33 games as the side finished 14th in the French second tier.

Cercle Brugge grabbed their first win of the season last weekend as they beat Westerlo 4-1.
