A remarkable turn of events has taken place in Brugge today. Cercle Brugge, who find themselves in the relegation play-off, have announced that Bernd Storck will be in charge for the two games against Patro Eisden. Just last week Storck was in charge of a Kortrijk side that beat Cercle Brugge and all but consigned them to the relegation play-off battle. Now, just days after being relegated with the fellow Pro League side, Storck will be trying to keep Cercle in the league.
Jimmy De Wulf had been the third man in charge of Cercle this season, after Miron Muslic and Ferdinand Feldhofer had also been in the dugout. However, De Wulf, who has been at Cercle for a prolonged period of time, was unable to steer them to safety. Storck appears to be a desperate attempt to ensure that the side do not end up in the second tier, just under 12 months after qualifying for European football.
