Cercle Brugge announce that Monaco’s Radosław Majecki will be out for six weeks

Cercle Brugge released a statement confirming that on loan AS Monaco goalkeeper Radosław Majecki will be out for at least six weeks after an incident during the recent game with Eupen. Majecki was on the wrong end of a challenge by Eupen’s Djeidi Gassama midway through the first half. Despite continuing till the break, the Polish keeper had to be replaced by Warleson at half-time.

In their statement, Cercle were disappointed about the lack of VAR intervention for a tackle that was reckless and out of control. They are not the first club to have made a statement showing their disappointment with the refereeing in the Belgian Pro League this season.

Despite Eupen going down to 10 men during the first half, Cercle were unable to take all three points as the sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. Abu Francis grabbed his first goal in green and black with a well taken finish from outside of the box.
