Cercle Brugge add 18 year-old Jamaican international Tarick Ximines until 2025

Cercle Brugge have announced the signing of Tarick Ximines from Mount Pleasant in Jamaica. The 18 year-old right back has signed a contract until 2025, with an option for a further year. The Jamaican international has been capped twice by his country after debuting in March 2022.

Ximines will be registered with the Cercle B team for the remainder of the 2022/2023 season. Ximines was on trial with Cercle last season for several weeks before returning to Jamaica.

The young Jamaican is the first winter signing for Cercle Brugge. Rumours have been circulating around the club about the future of their Norwegian central defender Jesper Daland. During the World Cup break, Daland spent time with Cercle’s parent club Monaco, even playing in friendly for the Ligue 1 side. However, the club expect Daland to remain in Belgium till the end of the 2022/2023 season.

After a difficult start to the season, Cercle Brugge were one of the inform sides going into the World Cup break. Under coach Miron Muslic, who replaced Dominik Thalhammer (now at KV Oostende), Cercle have moved away from the relegation zone and are just outside of the play-offs.
