Carl Hoefkens remains an option for upcoming Sint-Truiden vacancy

Voetbalkrant are reporting that former Club Brugge head coach Carl Hoefkens is one of the names being considered by Sint-Truiden for their upcoming vacancy. It has already been confirmed that current head coach Bernd Hollerbach will depart the club in the summer. Hoefkens, who led a successful group stage campaign for Club Brugge before being sacked after disappointing league results, was also in line to take over at West Brom. However, the Baggies kept Carlos Corberán on instead and the deal fell through.

Hoefkens replacement at Club Brugge, Scott Parker, only lasted a couple of months before he too was shown the exit door. Under Parker the defending champions only won twice and were humiliated by Benfica in the Champions League knock-out stages.

Sint-Truiden are set for a major summer restructure, with a number of key players out of contract or returning to their parent clubs. Club captain Toni Leistner has announced he will be leaving, but other veterans such as Kenny Steppe, Jorge Texeira and Shinji Okazaki are all out of contract in the summer.
