Speaking to the media ahead of the upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture between Club Brugge and Atletico Madrid, Club manager Carl Hoefkens remained focus on one game at a time. During the press conference, Hoefkens said “Our next 90 minutes are here in the Metropolitano. I’m not looking further in the future than this”.
Club Brugge currently sit top of their group with a perfect record of three wins from three, including their 2-0 victory over upcoming opponents Atletico in Brugge last week. Hoefkens is aware that the away fixture will be a tougher task, “We know that Atletico will have their plan ready for tomorrow and it’s up to us to have an answer on this. Of course we will try to play dominant football, but we realise it will be a big challenge”.
Atletico come into the match following a 2-1 over Girona, a victory that Diego Simeone felt was important. Club Brugge on the other hand are coming into the game following a surprise 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Westerlo.
