Cameroon’s Michael Ngadeu heavily linked to China move

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Michael Ngadeu is considering a move to China. With his contract expiring at the end of this season, reports suggest that the Cameroonian central defender is weighing up whether to end his contract sooner in order to move to China. Gent, who finally broke into the top four but are facing an injury crisis, are desperate to keep their experienced defender as they look to secure a top four spot to end the season.

32-year-old Ngadeu has been with the Buffaloes since 2019, having joined from Czech side Slavia Prague. He has made 170 appearances in all competitions for Gent, scoring 10 goals in the process and winning the Croky Cup last season. The defender had also been a regular with the Cameroonian national team, winning the AFCON in 2017. However, he was unceremoniously dropped for the recent World Cup in Qatar, a surprise given he had captained the team during the most recent AFCON in Cameroon.
