Brian Brobbey and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar ‘argued at the negotiating table’

Brian Brobbey has revealed that he and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar got into arguments at the “negotiating” table, but still have a lot of respect for one another.

Huntelaar took on more responsibility regarding the transfers of Ajax when Marc Overmars was relieved of his duties, and one of his biggest jobs so far has been bringing Brobbey back.

The young striker returned to the club on loan last season after leaving for RB Leipzig and returned permanently in the summer.

Negotiating such a return wasn’t easy though, with the Dutchman stating that he and Huntelaar, who generally have a good relationship, fell out in the process of doing so.

“We occasionally argued at the negotiating table. I prefer to keep what that was about to myself,” he told the club.

“Our bond has certainly not changed now, it just went in a normal way. We have respect for each other anyway.”

He says the former Netherlands striker helps him a lot, going over footage of matches with him, and wants him to give a few lessons on the training ground.

“I actually think Klaas should put on his football boots and give us striker training. I’m going to tell him that,” he added.
