Het Nieuwsblad and others are reporting that Antonio Nusa has been given the all clear by specialists in Norway. The teenager had been a target of Tottenham in recent months, but during the transfer window Brentford emerged as the clear favourites to sign the Norwegian. Nusa has been suffering from injuries, and given that the player would remain at Club Brugge until the end of the season, the Premier League club opted to be patient and wait for further medical advice.
The deal looks set to be the largest in Belgian football history, around €37m. Everything appeared to be going ahead until Brentford took a step back over Nusa’s knee injury. Now, with the all clear given, hopes are that both sides will return to the original deal that will see Nusa join the Premier League in the summer. There had always been expectations in Brugge that the player would remain with Club until the end of the season as they try and close the gap on Union St Gilloise at the top of the table.
