Despite joining from Toulouse on a free transfer at the end of last term, Ajax midfielder Branco van den Boomen is said to be unhappy under current boss Francesco Farioli as he fails to make the most of his career in the capital.
Unfortunately, where the 28-year-old man in the middle was supposed to offer stability and experience, he’s only been able to make 21 league appearances – finding his form disrupted by injury woes.
Van den Boomen’s case isn’t helped under a new boss in Farioli, with the decision looking set to be made in this summer window. Furthermore, competition in the team is another factor.
Jordan Henderson and Kenneth Taylor are certainties as long as they are still under contract. Henderson is said to be exploring his options and Ajax are admittedly open to a departure, yet won’t bench the 34-year-old Englishman due to his high wages. The same goes for Taylor, who represents a youth player who could go for a lot of money in the future.
According to Voetbal International, the former Toulouse, De Graafschap, and FC Eindhoven man could go for several million euros, with his ideal destination being in the Spanish or Italian leagues. His contract with Ajax runs until 2027.
