Bologna interested in Union St Gilloise defender

HLN are reporting that Serie A side Bologna are keeping an eye on Fedde Leysen. The 22-year-old is under contract in Brussels until 2029, so Bologna will have to pay a decent fee to prize him away from Union St Gilloise. Leysen has been a key player in the sides defence and it is unsurprising that Bologna, a side that are said to be prioritising a central defender in January, are showing interest in him.

Leysen joined Union St Gilloise from Dutch champions PSV back in 2023. In his first season at the club he played nine games, scoring once. Last season he stepped up into the first team and never looked back. Leysen made 36 appearances for the eventual Belgian champions, scoring once. He has already made 24 this season, with five of these being in the Champions League. Union are well versed at getting maximum value for their players, but also not standing in their way of an opportunity to join a bigger league. Bologna certainly have a chance at landing Leysen this winter, although they wonโ€™t be able to do so on the cheap.
