Black Star or Red Devil? Francis Amuzu undecided on international future

Despite reports that Francis Amuzu has decided to represent Ghana, Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that the players entourage are adamant that the young Anderlecht winger has yet to make up his mind. The Accra born Anderlecht academy player moved to Belgium when he was young, and has represented Belgium at youth levels. He was called up by Roberto Martinez in 2021 but did not make an appearance.

The paper is reporting that Majeed Ashimeru, who has been capped twice by the Black Stars, has been trying to convince Amuzu to pledge his allegiance to his country of birth.

The 23 year-old has played 18 games so far this season, scoring three times and providing three assists. Since making his debut for the Mauves back in the 2017/18 season, the winger has already made 182 appearances for the club, getting 20 goals and 21 assists in the process.

If Amuzu chooses the represent Ghana, he will join fellow Pro League players Dennis Odoi and Kamal Sowah, who were recently called up to the countries World Cup side.
