League One side Birmingham City have officially announced the signing of Willum Thór Willumsson from Go Ahead Eagles. The 25-year-old has signed a four-year deal at St Andrew’s, valid until the summer of 2028.
Willumsson has spent the last two seasons in the Eredivisie with Go Ahead Eagles where he’s featured 62 times, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists. The nine-time Iceland international is as versatile as any midfielder could possibly get. He’s capable of playing on both wings or in a deep midfield role but predominantly plays as an attacking midfielder.
Thór has got a hammer of a left foot, loves a shot from range and will certainly play a pivitol part in Birmingham’s push for promotion straight back up to the Championship. Willum Thór Willumsson Has become the club’s second Eredivisie signing this summer, as they also brought Swedish winger Emil Hansson to the club from Heracles Almelo. Two incredibly exciting signings for the club, brining experience and exceptional quality.
