Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Algerian attacker Billal Messaoudi’s move to Turkey is on hold due to visa issues. The Kortrijk player was set to join Göztepe S.K. on loan, with a purchase agreement also included in the deal. However, the medical was unable to take place due to issues with the 25-year-old’s visa. Once the situation is resolved, the move should be able to take place.
Messaoudi joined Kortrijk from Algerian side JS Saoura in the summer of 2020 for a season loan, before the move was made permanent the following summer. His contract with the Belgian side was set to run until 2026, so should the Turkish side not exercise their purchase option, he will return to Kortrijk.
The Algerian has played 54 games for the club, scoring four goals and providing four assists. He has made two appearances for the club this season. Kortrijk have lost both their opening games, 3-2 to Gent and then 1-0 at home to Sint-Truiden.
