Bilal Ould-Chikh leaves FC Volendam and makes intriguing transfer

Bilal Ould-Chikh will continue his career at Raja Casablanca in Morocco. The gifted winger has left FC Volendam for a new adventure.

The 27-year-old playmaker has signed a contract until the summer of 2027. According to Transfermarkt, the newly-promoted FC Volendam will not benefit from his departure.

This brings Ould-Chikhโ€™s three-and-a-half-year stint with the Palingboeren to an end. Volendam initially picked him up on a free transfer at the end of 2021, after he left ADO Den Haag a few months earlier.

Ould-Chikh ultimately made 100 official appearances, scoring twelve goals and providing 29 assists. However, there were times in his Volendam spell were things got tough. Back in March, Ould-Chikh voiced his experiences with racism and discriminatory remarks, bizarrely from his own fans.

At the time, he said: โ€œSometimes I canโ€™t explain why I am approached more critically than others, other than on the basis of my background. I remained polite in interviews. But people need to realise how much I have experienced in recent years in terms of discrimination and racism.โ€

Ould-Chikh now takes a step back to his familyโ€™s homeland earlier than previously described.

โ€œIt is a kind of trauma. The feeling that I am different has always remained. After my career, I will move to Morocco. I feel more at home there than in the Netherlands.โ€
