Besnik Hasi turning things around for KV Mechelen

KV Mechelen continued their recent good form under Besnik Hasi with a 1-0 win over struggling Eupen. Since the former Anderlecht head coach took over in November, the side have won six out of 11 games. In that time they have only lost three times, with the rest being draws. They are also unbeaten in their last four, with three wins and a draw since the league returned from a winter break.

It was one of the players who has improved since Hasi took over that made the decisive contribution against Eupen. Summer signing Daam Foulon scored his second goal for the club, with captain Rob Schoofs coming off the bench to grab his fourth assist in 22 games. Left-back Foulon has shown that he has adapted to the Pro League since joining Mechelen from Benevento in Italy.

For Eupen, despite a positive result last week against Antwerp, they have now lost two on the bounce to teams near them in the table. After this result, and the 1-0 defeat to Charleroi midweek, the Pandas sit second bottom, just three points ahead of Kortrijk. For Mechelen, they are now in eight place, just four points off of play-off one.
