Belgian analyst labels Lyon, Crystal Palace and RWDM investor a ‘crazy dictator’

Former Belgian international and current TV analyst Philippe Albert did not mince his words during La Tribune this week. The discussion show on Belgian TV were talking about the recent appointment of Yannick Ferrera as the third coach of RWDM this season. The side are currently bottom of the Pro League and face an uphill task during the relegation play-offs to avoid an immediate return to the second tier.

During the debate, Albert was of the opinion that Ferrera has nothing to lose, but even if he did keep them up he could well be sacked early next season. This, he said, was because of the ‘crazy dictator as president’, a reference to John Textor. Over the summer Textor angered fans by appointing himself as President of the club. The American is also a co-investor in Premier League side Crystal Palace and Ligue 1 side Lyon.

The Brussels side open their relegation play-offs with a trip to face Charleroi, who are also under new management.
