AZ Alkmaar have announced the signing of 19-year-old striker Lequincio Zeefuik. The teenager joins from FC Volendam and has signed a contract with AZ until 2029. Zeefuik leaves FC Volendam after coming through the academy there, joining the set up in 2017. So far this season the young forward has played 16 Eredivisie matches, grabbing three goals and one assist.
Since making his debut for the senior side during the 2020/2021 season, Zeefuik has already gone on to amass 48 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals. He leaves the side sitting second bottom of the table, level on points with bottom side Vitesse and seven points adrift of Heracles and safety.
AZ on the other hand are sitting in fourth place, just three points behind FC Twente in third. They host second place Feyenoord this weekend. Just days later they will face the same opposition in the next round of the KNVB Cup.
