AZ Alkmaar have loaned Mayckel Lahdo to FC Nantes in Ligue 1. The 22-year-old winger fell out of favour in Alkmaar and now finds a playing opportunity in France. A purchase option has reportedly also been included as part of the deal.
AZ acquired Lahdo from Swedish side Hammarby IF for โฌ600,000 back in the summer of 2022. Since then, heโs played 98 matches for the first team, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists.
Last term he played a solid role, totting up 35 appearances. This summer, however, manager Maarten Martens announced that heโs no longer in his plans.
Lahdo had reportedly been training separately from the squad for a while. Nantes have now taken him on loan.
Lahdo is also a six-cap international for the Swedish U21s. He has a contract with AZ until the summer of 2027. He joins a Nantes outfit that finished 13th in Ligue 1 last season.
