AS Monaco showing interest in Antwerp goalkeeper Jean Butez

HLN are reporting that AS Monaco are one side showing interest in Antwerp goalkeeper Jean Butez. The 27-year-old French goalkeeper has kept 17 clean sheets in 31 league games this season, the best in the Belgian Pro League. Antwerp have only conceded 25 goals in 31 games this season, again a league best record. For context, Gent are in second place with 34 conceded.

Butez began his career with Lille before moving on loan to Mouscron for the 2017/2018 season, after which he was signed by the club permanently for just €200k. Mouscron, now defunct, were closely linked to the French side and would loan a number of players from across the border. After two seasons with Mouscron the keeper joined Antwerp for around €1m and is under contract with the Great Old until 2026.

Antwerp, after their 2-0 win over Zulte Waregem at the weekend, remain in third place and are eight points away from Genk at the top of the table.
