Arsenal are to make a second offer for Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans with Mikel Arteta keen on signing the Belgian.
Arsenal have been interested in signing Tielemans for some time but that interest hasn’t turned into anything more thus far in this transfer window.
However, things have ramped up in recent weeks with talk that the London club have made an official offer for the midfielder.
Belgian journalist Sacho Tavolieri has now reported that a first bid was indeed submitted and that Arteta and co are now preparing to make a second one in the coming days.
The 25-year is said to be keen on joining the club and is in a strong position with his current contract expiring next year. If Leicester don’t let him leave this summer, he can leave on a free transfer next year.
Arsenal are apparently happy to wait until then if necessary too and so presumably won’t be willing to pay an enormous fee to get him sooner.
