According to Voetbal International, Arsenal are interested in signing PSV’s Xavi Simons this summer. Simons made a huge impression at PSV this season. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder finished the campaign as the Eredivisie’s joint-top goalscorer with 19 goals. He also provided eight assists as PSV finished in second place.
Simons’ fantastic form has turned him into a top transfer target for some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Arsenal are the latest team showing interest in the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain youngster.
PSG have the option to bring the Netherlands international back to the Parc des Princes for just €12m. But, the player himself has the deciding vote as to where he goes next.
Simons has indicated several times this season that he is happy at PSV, however, an offer from a club like Arsenal could be attractive to the midfielder. Xavi Simons recently changed agents. He swapped his former agent, Rafaela Pimenta for Darren Dein, the son of former Arsenal co-owner and vice-chairman David Dein. If Mikel Arteta wants to add more firepower to his Arsenal side this summer, Simons could be the perfect signing. Although, he definitely won’t be cheap.
