Arne Slot teases Jerdy Schouten arrival for Feyenoord after Groningen win

Speaking to ESPN, Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot has not denied speak to transfer target Jerdy Schouten as links with the midfielder continue to grow.

The Dutch coach hinted just last week how the Eredivisie leaders are in for a difficult transfer window as they aim to recruit the right type of player to bolster their title winning chances.

The leaders picked up a convincing 3-0 win thanks to goals from Igor Paixao, Orkun Kocku and Santiago Giminez at Euroborg but many were keen to ask Slot the latest surrounding Bologna midfielder’s rumoured arrival.

Journalist Hans Kraay reported the club were in contact with the Dutch midfielder but Slot did not deny the alleged rumours when asked about the former Excelsior player after the match.

Slot said: “If you say so, Hans. Who am I to question you? He’s playing for Bologna at the moment, so it’s extremely inappropriate until the player is ours. I can tell you: he isn’t.”
