Antwerp set to former PSG defender from Borussia Dortmund

Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Antwerp are set to sign Soumaïla Coulibaly from BVB Dortmund. The French central defender is to be the replacement for William Pacho, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt this summer. The former PSG defender joined Dortmund in the summer of 2021, and has spent most of his time with the second team. He has made two Bundesliga appearances, while also winning a cap for the French U20 side.

Antwerp have been searching for a replacement for Pacho all summer and seem to have settled on the 19-year-old. It is not yet known what the fee will be for the defender.

Defending champions Antwerp have had a mixed start to the season. After a 1-0 win at home against Cercle Brugge, they travelled to Anderlecht for the second matchday. Kasper Dolberg opened his account for the Mauves as they beat Antwerp 1-0 in Brussels.

Antwerp will face Kortrijk on Friday evening, with the relegation favourites having lost both of their opening games.
