Voetbalkrant are reporting that Marc Overmars is keen on bringing Toulouse midfielder Branco van den Boomen to Antwerp. The 27-year-old central midfielder is out of contract in the summer, with plenty of sides keen to bring him in. The former De Graafschap player joined the French side in 2020 and has gone on to make 119 appearances, scoring 23 goals. He was also pivotal in the clubs return to Ligue 1 last season.
Antwerp and Overmars in particular have long admired the midfielder, and now that no transfer fee is involved they are keen to bring him to Belgium. However, they are not the only ones. PSV are interested in bringing the midfielder back to the Netherlands, while Galatasaray are also in the mix.
Van den Boomen began his career with Ajax, before spells with FC Eindhoven, SC Heerenveen and Willem II. In Ligue 1 this season he has played 33 games, scoring five goals and providing eight assists.
