With Joao Gamboa returned to Estoril, and Raphael Holzhauser apparently on his way to 1860 Munich, OH Leuven are clearing out their summer transfers after just a few months. 21 year old former Barcelona and Boca Juniors youth prospect Santi Ramos Mingo is returning to Argentina on loan. The defender will join Defensa y Justitia in the top flight of Argentinian football until the end of 2023, with the club including a purchase option in the agreement.
Ramos Mingo did not make a single appearance for the first team, instead spending his brief time in Belgium with OH Leuven’s second team. He made 18 appearances in the Belgian third tier, scoring three times.
Ramos Mingo left Boca Juniors for Barcelona in February of 2020, spending most of his time in Spain with the B team. Leuven signed the defender on a free in the summer, but are clearly prepared to let the signing leave after a matter of months.
