Andreas Skov Olsen scored twice and provided an assist as Club Brugge scored seven times to beat RWDM 7-1 at home. The Danish international, who was linked with a move away from the side this summer, recently expressed his desire to stay for at least one more season. Against Eupen, the 23-year-old scored twice, meaning he now has four goals and an assist for the season.
Thiago Rodrigues, Philip Zinckernagel, Antonio Nusa and Tajon Buchanan also found the net, with the unfortunate Abner scoring an own goal. Under new head coach Ronny Deila, the black and blue half of Brugge have scored 12 goals in their last two games, giving them 14 in the four league games this season. They currently sit top of the table with 10 points and a plus 12 goal difference. Club Brugge’s next game is the first leg against Osasuna, before they face Genk at home next Sunday.
For RWDM, they have had a mixed start to the season. While they would not have imagined that they could beat Club Brugge, the 7-1 score line will certainly be disappointing. The side have won twice and lost twice, scoring four goals and now conceding 12. There is no let up for RWDM as they face Union St Gilloise next weekend.
